Lindenau Art Museum

The motto of Bernhard August von Lindenau was “To teach the Young – to delight the Old.” Lindenau was politician and art collector. His collections were the foundation of the current museum that hauses early Italian Renaissance altar pieces, ancient sculptures, antique Etruscan ceramics, expressionist drawings, modern art work, and seasonally changing exhibitions.
The Lindenau Art Museum is known nation-wide and has its name is among the most important museums in Germany.
In addition, the Museum also houses an Art School for young townsfolk.
